freelander not starting

hi, we are here at work and my foreman has a problem, he has an 04 freelander with the bmw engine. he came to it yesterday and the thing wouldnt start although the engine does turn over ok. theengine managment light is ion though. aparently the batery wasnt to brilliant and that has now been changed but the problem still persists, can anybody shine any light on the subject please. we have also got the spare key for this too and tryed it as we thought the fob may have been faulty but the spare key gives the same problem.

ooh,

lp fuel pump, fuel cut off switch, fuel filter, hp fuel pump, crank position sensor, cam position sensor, faulty injector to name but a few

if its auto, could be inhibit switch (look at speedo to see which gear it thinks its in, can you hear solenoid when you press brake?)

Really need a bit more info or you'll just get huge lists of possibles which will take ages to go thru?
