Hi all, Just joined so I'll start by saying hi.

Ok, so I was driving along the other week and stopped for lunch upon starting the jeep about 15 mins later it hessitated to start but it got there. So I pull out onto the main road and it started juddering for 5 or so seconds and leading to a stall (never started again) I got it recovered and began to check the fuel cut off switch but it seems fine, I then moved onto the fuel pump relay (fine also), carried onto the fuel pump and when I got into the top of the pump I removed the primary fuel line and cranked the engine and there was nothing! No pressure, no noise and not a dribble of fuel out the pipe. I continued to remove the pump and took both pump and relay to mechanical electrician to test, upon connecting his battery the pump started to function(no output as there was no feed) and the relay tested fine. Basically what else could the problem be here?? Immobiliser??

I have since been called away to work and can't carry on with diagnostic but any input / help would be greatly appreciated. The jeep itself a 2005 and has only covered 47k miles and there were no ECU light on the dash (that i can remember)

Thanks guys!

I think it would help if you give us a bit of info about your vehicle. Is it a diesel or petrol model? The differences are vast... I'm assuming it's a Td4 as they suffer from low-pressure pump problems.

Oh, and probably not a good idea to call it a "jeep" either. Stands to reason on a LR forum ;)

Welcome to LZ.

not sure with freelanders but my mrs went thru 3 coil packs in 2 years with the same symptoms on a k series , always when trying to hot start. hows the spark and leads and if it's got a dizzy check the rotor arm.
