Hi Guys!

I've got a 2003 Landrover Freelander 2.0 diesel. I've been having massive problems with it since December, and in actual fact have hardly driven it. Basically I took it to a garage in December and they told me I needed a new engine, got one fitted and still had problems - the car keeps fluctuating in speed when driving and all the 'umph' it once had has just vanished. When the car is stationary you can see the rev counter increasing like my foot is on the accelerator, the car also puffs out quite a lot of black smoke as well and every so often will just cut out and take an age to start up again. I've also had a new ECU fitted in the car but still nothing seems to work. Do you guys have any suggestions as to what might be causing this and a probable solution because I really miss not driving it?!

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

turbo seals leaking oil into engine and running on oil vapor possibly, if it is then be very careful as it will run away eventually

Thanks very much for your response - what do you mean 'be very careful it will run away eventually'?

when the oil leak reaches critical point then 4 gear and brakes on drop clutch, on an auto your going to need to be brave or stupid to go near it.

slim chance it could be the Hp fuel pressure sensor or its connection/harness.......
