Engine And Gearbox

Can anybody recommend any companies around Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire or Lincolnshire, that sells reconditioned engines and gearboxes for a 2.25 diesel series 3, thanks

Witham Vehicle Specialists can do you a re-con series engine for £650 ish. <- seems like I got a bargain, they are now £895 + VAT

Only genuine parts are used in the re-con etc and its done by the army's Land Rover Specialists.

The one I have is top notch and runs like a dream.

1st post so be gentle...I have a Ex-MoD S3 109 with a dicky gearbox, it jumps out of reverse, and 2nd, 3rd when decelerating. I'm inclined to replace it with a recon unit, do Witham supply gearboxes as well as engines? If not who would you recommend and what price should I pay (limited research would suggest anything from £250 to £550!). Oh and the gearbox is fitted with (Fairey) overdrive...should this make a difference?

although no address is posted, and i dont know beaumont's first name, the fact that its stated as beaumonts in halifax, would sugest yes.

please note in my op, i didnt recomend them, merely told the op to google a place that works in what he was asking for.

i have not used them previously myself, i knew of them when i worked at transferbox in shipley (long time gone), and a mate used them for a recon 12J 4 years ago. initially he had problems with it (cant remember what, as i was not involved with it), but do know that just before xmas this year he was enquiring about 200tdi conversions as it went bump after 30000 miles.

i will link this thread to yours.
make your own minds up, personally i would'nt use them.

I have now reconed my engine and bought a reconed gearbox, i was just wonderin if i can put a small turbo on it??
