 Just about to do the first bit of work on my s3 safari, purchased one of those britpart electroinc points until. Opened up the Distributor and found it is a ducellier. Does anyone know if the britpart will fit?

Thanks for the heads up 1396midget, I spotted a kit from simonbbc, no extra ballast bits needed. Still slapping my head over buying the britpart before checking.:doh: Hope to have it over the next few days and try again.

Got the part took longer to fix up than expected, now running great..... but not happy with the wobble on the dizzy, how much should I expect if at all. Is it save to drive?

Just a thought - did the dizzy come with the clamp plate 'cosI think the Ducelier and Lucas ones are different.

It looks to me its the cap, there was a plate that screws into the base plate and then the 'magnetic reader' screws into that. Measured the main rotar arm hight with the magnetic collar on it and with out and there seems to be only 1mm difference in hight. Cap seems tight on, gave the cap clamps a bit of a squeeze to make sure they are holding down. This latest kit was for the Ducelier so fitted it straight in.

Took aday off from the s3 and then this evening did some more checks, twisted the magnetic reader/collar into place rather than pushed it and put a slight twist into the rotor when placing that back. The cap felt the same when in place but..........start it up and no wobble. Taking it to the petrol garage tonight to fill up and check again. Tomorrow a stretch on the road!
