Thanks gents.
Yes 6 pot is a must....I think the size will be fine for weekends away with two little ones.
The one in the barn sounds like what I would like...
Plan a full rebuild. Has to be better than throwing money at a modern and its a proper vehicle..
I have a 1968 registered (1967build) series 2a 1 tonne Martin Walters Dormobile.Hi All.
I am thinking of trying to get a Dormobile. Probably as a project.
Needs to have 6 cylinder petrol engine.
any ideas?
I would have thought that if 'fuel economy is a criteria' you wouldn't be buying a Land RoverWhilst not knowing how many were made, it is perhaps more appropriate to question how many exist. It was common to dump the 6 pot and embed a diesel of whatever flavour: 300 TDI being a very good match.
Depend on how fast you wish to go, and what ”style” of transport you seek., and if fuel economy is a criteria. Mine remains nicely origonal engine, and I manage between 14 to 17 mpg, and “Dreadnought” cruises at 60 to 65 mph.
