curiosity ... what did you do to get a front drag link the right length?

if I told you that I'd have to kill you, trade secrets n'all that!............ha haaa!
On a serious note it was easier than I thought, the series one is too short so I binned it and got the one off the disco but this was too long so when i turned right I had a lot less lock, not good on tight turns!
So I took the trackrod ends off looked down the tube and the threads go down a good bit further than the rod ends,I carefully cut 3/4 of an inch off each end of the bar re-cut the slots for the clamps screwed the trackrods back in and hey presto! Perfect length and looks original for mr mot man

have you got any pics of inside your cab mate ..? im planning on doing a king cab and would ;like to see what yours is like inside ...cheers ....benny

Benny,I made the cab the same length as a normal truck cab so I can get a cage in the back but I can still take some pics if you want
dr pepper,my steering bar is dead straight it's off a 300tdi disco (n Reg)

cheers fella. hope my aftermarket ones are drilled & tapped deep enough to do that too.

My axles are from a deffy, probably why theres a wiggle in th'end.
Gonna make one from steel stock, have plenty of it.
Thems shock mounts didnt wanna come off the salisbury, had to grind and smack em wiv a big chisel.

Might just trim back close to the casing then, 'cept where I need to put the new mounts on.
One time saver I did was get a couple of new 7 quid mounts for the rear, and some disco axle lift mounts for the front, only prob is that the hole for the spring locator in the rear isnt drilled, and in the fronts is too big.
Did you try those new 1mm knife edge cutting discs, verry effective.

Not a problem for the V8,just rang them up and they sorted that (£145 fully comp)before I put the axles on I asked them about it and they said it wasn't a problem, not done it yet cos I've only just finished putting them on and the insurance is due in the next week or so,so no point paying £25 to amend my policy might as well do it all at once. I'll let you know when I've sorted it
