Defender/Series chasis Width?

Anyone got any idea if a series and fender chasis width between (inside the rails) is the same or different?

i thought they wre the same i know a defender bulk head fits on,and i have fitted 5sp gear boxes with defender mounts

if ya google landrover chassis dimensions and select images you'll have no trouble finding the answer

Jim, more info on the 'box swap, are you saying that the lt77 just bolts straight onto the series chassis?

1 used the mounts off a defender that came with the gear box ,driiled 3 holes and used 100mm bolts straight through ,i also used seat box gear box tunnel floor plates and positioned gear box so stick was in right place but we were fitting a 200 tdi as well so i cant remeber if we had to move engine mounts we also modified t/bo diff so that it only ran 4wd when difflock applied ,also remover series cross member and bolted in def one

Right get that now, the deffy mounts bolt directly onto the chassis rails, you didnt fasten up to the series box mounts, kinda makes sense the op was about if the rails were the same width or not.
If you used the same prop shaft then you'dve probably move the engine up 100mm as the deffy box is 100mm longer.
