Back in Defender, now a 110, after 5 years with a DIsco 3. The alloys and tyres on the Defender when I bought it are small. What would be the best wheel and tyre (all terain for pref) combo to give it a chunkier look without sacrificing turning circle to much?

The standard alloys and tires fitted on later Defenders reduced turning circle compared to the old steels. Any thing bigger chunkier will reduce again. Wheel spacers or wide offset rims only real answer but expect more wear on wheel bearings and steering swivels.

I would recommend a 265/75/16 tyres size as slightly wider over the 235/85/16 gives it a chunkier look if that is what you are after.
I have 265/75 bfg AT fitted to 8” modular steels on mine and have run this combination for over 15 years quite happily. Don’t see any more wheel bearing wear (unlike the 35” huge offset wheels I ran when I was a student!). But for keeping things fairly standard you cannot go wrong with a set of HD (wolf) rims and 235/85 all terrains. Anything is better than alloys!

What sort of thing are you really wanting to achieve? Standard wheels and tyres really aren't all that small and should be round 32" tall.

Wider will likely reduce steering (have you checked your steering lock stops?). Or run the risk of sticking out of the arches, which in the UK is illegal.

Huge array of sizes to choose from.

What age/engine is the 110?

Older ones have a stronger Salisbury rear axle. Latter ones use a Rover based one. Bigger tyres could cause a standard axle to fail if you off road heavily.

Have seen up to 37" tyres fitted, although I'd suggest 33" is a more sensible max and 35" will require significant upgrades

Sizes that have been fitted:

7.50 x 16
31.10.50R15
235/86R16
265/75R16
285/75R16
255/85R16
33.10.50R15
33.11.50R15
35.12.50R15

Some sizes may require trimming, lift, different arches, different rims, axle upgrades, engine upgrades.

33" Falken Wildtrak with 15" Mach5 wheels -32 offset i think
