Freelander 1 Coolant loss on 1.8 petrol

so its been collected on sunday and currently being worked on, should be covered under warranty so hopefully back at the weekend. i'll report back when its back.

All back to normal, head gasket got replaced, seems to run great! and definitely runs a lot cooler overall, no coolant loss to speak of now so hopefully that will be the last big issue, garage also put on another 12 months MOT for the inconvenience. all covered under warranty so no cost to me, even better. heres to many more miles and i can now start thinking about all the upgrades i want to do.

Losing coolant again unfortunately, no leaks spotted but this does look iffy? i guess if it gets really warm driving it could be boiling off? not head gasket as i tested it again!

Looks cracked. Air gets in, coolant boils and leaves as steam or leaks under pressure.

Best to replace the header.

As Andy said. With those cracks it won't hold pressure, which means it'll boil the coolant off.

cheers chaps, going to invest in a new one, its only 15 quid with a cap, and a couple of jubilees.
