Freelander 1 Coolant bottle - advice or opinions please

Doing some tinkering tonight I found the coolant had "crazing" around the neck. (See pic).
Whats your thoughts?
Normal?
Need replaced?
Set fire to it and then claim a big boy did it and ran away?

Common problem. Replace the tank and cap.

and do not buy a cheap one there was a thread not long ago about header tanks that were splitting in the middle or you will be in the same boat again.

It depends on the engine in the car. A petrol engine pressurises the cooling system much more than the diesel engine does.
Mine was a £15 tank and cap kit. It's not split or shown any sign of distress in the last 18 months. But it is fitted to a TD4 which runs at a cool 85°C.

OEM, Bearmach are good. I bought an AllMakes and it failed after 3 months. It was fitted to my '98 FL1 K series 1.8
