Right, there is a knock in my engine and I expect its the big end bearings.

What size do need when ordering?

STD,+0.010, +0.020, etc?

As yu mite have guessed by now, it's a dumb question. You need tomatch the bearings to the crankshaft. As no-one can know what size the crankshaft is, no-one can give yu an answer .
Yu will need to remove a bearing to see if it has anything written on it; however if yu have damaged the crank (yu will have to get it measured), yu might need to have the bearing surfaces reground - and then get bearings to match.

Good luck!

Not such a dumb question.

Some one could have just told me, "It will be stamped on them"

The crank should be fine, however I am thinking of replacing the bearings with the engine still in place, so unless im top notch with an angle grinder, it will not be having a regrind.

All depends if the funny noise I hear is actually these bearings. Its going to a friends today to have the knock identified.

It could just be a tooth missing in the transfer case or a knock from some where else.

The engine was only re-coned 3 years ago and I dont do to many miles so I would be surprised if it were these bearings.

However, I thought would still ask the question incase it was...

regrinding a crank with an angle grinder is the kinda thing NoB might attempt - i hope you are jesting ?

Ha ha! Mine knocks on tickover and I have been reliably informed that it's piston slap. I'm thinking of taking the piston out and gluing some aluminium foil to it to take up the slack. Will ordinary foil do or do I need the thicker "turkey" grade?
