Hi all! My clutch sarga continues and have a question or 2 to point me in the right direction, My freelander is an L-series and had a new clutch, and master/slave cylinder fitted less than a thousand miles ago but had stood a while when I bought it. The clutch is now slipping only in 4th and 5th and only about half an hour of driving before that it pulls fine with no slipping. The clutch pedal travel and feel if fine bites roughly in the middle, not high at all. now to the weird part.

The slave cylinder... Looking from underneath the rod/piston coming from the slave cylinder is coming out at a slight angle not straight and if i take the other end of the slave cylinder in my fingers I can push the whole thing up and down maybe 4 to 5mm like it is not secure at the top but the clip is in place. Also when pushing this up and down the piston/rod is going in and out by a few mm but there doesnt seem to be much resistance.

I may be clutching at straws (no pun intended) and may have to bite the bullet and get a new clutch fitted but could the clutch slip be down to something else?? any advice would be appreciated;)

After the huge response to my thread (LOL!) thought I would update, I spent the last few days lubing the release arm and so far I have had no clutch slip what so ever so fingers crossed it was just due to standing for so long.

EGR blanking plate is on it's way and new air filter as the current one is black so will be looking to see if there is any gain in blanking the EGR.:smokin:
