Ok so i've been scanning the forum and have come up with the following to get my freelander td4 top notch.

Egr blank it. Bought from fleebay.
Change the old hoses.
Use good engine oil /fuel.
Add 200 ml of 2stroke to every full tank.

It's booked in for a full service but i'll be doing the egr thing myself to be sure it's properly cleaned.

I think that should do it, any other info would be welcome, and one last thing this site and you lot are brilliant.

Tks again

OK James,

You can buy this part at any BMW agent/dealer - but not at a LandRover agent.

Part Nr. B11.12.7.799.367

Costs somewhere around €25

Loads of info on here how to change it - just take care with the diesel pipe 'T' junctions - don't pull on one side only - gently ease them up.

Hi,

Just to be clear - your eBay link is showing 2 unrelated things. The little clear plastic filter on the upper right is the turbo vent filter which is quite cheap and should be included as part of your full service. You'll find it below and to the left of the big black servo unit.

The blue thing (and the allied rubber bits) is the original style crankcase filter.
If you buy the BMW part you get the upgraded cyclone part, and the rubber gaskets and 'O' ring included.

I would not fit a straight replacement of the 'old-style' part.
