I have a ZF auto box from an '89 RRC in my 90.

One of the two bulbs in the auto shifter panel has blown and I don't know how to disassemble it to replace the bulb.
Any suggestions most welcome.
Thank you.

If similar to my 93 and 95, you must first take off the shifter handle and the plastic part with the letters and numbers on it. That will expose the little lights.
To do this, put the car in neutral and pry off the top the shifter handle with a narrow blade. It pops off to expose a c-clip at the top of the shaft. Remove it. Pull the shaft out and remove remove the 3/4 in nut. Watch out for the clips on the plastic part. They are dainty.

Thanks both.
On further inspection I found the lamp holders just pull out from the sides of the shifter cover. No trim surrounding it so easy access.

For future reference the bulbs are RTC6089 5W wedges. I had a spare 3W and it works fine.
The shifter assembly is BTR9926LNF from a Disco 1 with the side mounted lamps:

rather than the RTC6683 from a RRC:

All glowing nicely in the dark now :)
