Need some advice here, have been reading other posts for help but I still am having problems.
Series 2a 109'- Master cylinder- CV type, with remote servo.

I have changed- CV type master cyl., all 6 wheel cylinders, brake pipes on rear axle and both the cross/link to the top and bottom of the front wheel cylinders, plus 3 new flex lines, new cam adjusters for the front, all new brake shoes.
I have been bleeding and bleeding with no hard pedal. I am really getting my blood pressure up with this thing. I bench bled the new MC, I have vacuum bled at every bleed nipple.

I can get a hard peddle only after several pumps and with the flex lines clamped.

Tomorrow I want to wire all the wheel cylinders down tomorrow and trying again. Perhaps clamping the flex lines too.

I have a CB type lying around.

I really need some advice.

Have you adjusted the brake shoes so they are just not touching the wheel drums by adjusting the snail cams? I believe you have two snail cams per front wheel. It seems like your shoes are very far away from your drums.

Well like a moron I messed up the rear brakes leading and trailing shoe. Thats sorted out, next I measured the drums. They were all well over 11inches inner dia. The worst offender was one of the rear drums at 11 5/16. The drum itself is stamped max 11-06 ;Does that mean 11.06 inches? Another thing I found was the new shoes had a thinner linning. The old ones which broke apart looked almost twice as thick. Then too top all that off your right all my adjusters were slack. Tomorrow I will bleed again and check, fingers crossed.

wow thats a lot of random problems. Im guessing the drums are quite badly worn seeing as what you said. What is unusual is that the rear shoes are only half as thick.

Are you sure they are correct for your year and model. If they are it is possible that someone has fitted different shoes in the past. But if that is the case they may also have fitted different drums to go with those shoes.

Yeah lots of problems, what a headache, I got brakes on the second pump today, (yah) will work on it some more tomorrow again. eerrrrr

I'll post a picture of those pads, I am fairly confident they are the right ones.

Its a little funny to me that I keep running into traps set from previous mechanics/garages- not that I am the sharpest stick in the pile. Surprised I didn't find a roll of duct tape cramed in the drum and some bubble gum under the reservoir lid. hehe
