Hi all,

Have 04 td4 on 69k, the car has recently started to flash up the amber engine warning light with the (!) in it.
It flashes when under load, going uphill at between 1750-2250 rpm, i dont lose engine power or have any issues. It will flash 1-2 times a week, my route to work is rather hilly both ways.

It goes out once i get to flat ground, ive had a major service back in december, i got every filter inc crankcase changed and fresh castrol oil of correct spec.

Is this just my car being an arse or is there a sensor or such on the way out?

Anyone got any ideas on it?

i dont know for sure but you say you had filters changed , was the diesel filter changed i wonder cos i have just done my in tank fuel pump and obviously air got into system and my engine warning lamp came on , at first quite a lot but after a few days its now getting to be just the odd time and getting better , i put this down to air in the fuel system and as you cant bleed the sytem [ its automatic bleed ] on td4 i guess its slowly getting rid of air . Possibly a sensor is picking up the presence of air in the fuel rail etc and today it just came on once when i had travelled about 100 yds , so stopped the motor and restarted it and did 50 miles with no sign of the amber light.
i may be totally wrong but the only thing i have done is let air into the fuel lines.
