Right, another little niggle guys.

My aircon is not functioning. The switch lights up when depressed, but no arctic air. I was going to get the gas recharged, but could it also be something else? Any prechecks before taking it to the garage?

Cheers

If you take it to a garage. They arent legally allowed to regas your aircon without leak testing it first.

They should nitrogen test it first, then if that passes (positive pressure test), it will be Vac Tested by the aircon machine (negative pressure test) as it pulls a vac to boil off any moisture in the system.

make sure the bolt is tight where it goes into the bulk head and after having it re gassed you must run it at least 10 mins per week to maintain it

Cheers for the advice guys.

Hi Kato, I was quoted £60 for a recharge, I have no reference so am clueless whether this is a reasonable price or not.

should have made myself a bit clearer the bolt holds the conection together i have known several to be a bit loose which is no good but do not over tighten
