98 Freelander 1 Airbag Control Module YWJ101300

Hello. My bro lives in Sydney and has a '98 Freelander 1. Took it to LR dealership last week as the airbag warning light has been on and off was the past few months and they have told him it will cost $650 to source a new one from the UK. Anyone know what the best plan would be. Had a look at a few forums and there looks to be a number of different part numbers?

It's been posted that there is a plug under one of the front seats that can cause a bad contact when the seats are moved. Try unplugging and remaking contacts with ignition switched off.

hello. I'm the brother who lives down under. Does anyone know if other SRS control modules will fit my car? Landrover just say to replace with the same part number. I can source a 2nd hand part from UK for $30 but different part number or purchase it brand new for $400 although looking to sell the car so don't really want to spend lots of money on it. any help appreciated
