90 diff on s3?

Going to look at a series 111 tomorrow. When asked if it had overdrive the seller said it had a 90 diff and so didnt need it?

Should this be avoided? ANy problems commonly caused by fitting the 90 diff?

It has 2 90 axles with 90 wheels and mud tyres. Are these too big? Are they going to hit the arches when im offroad?
