Due to serious health problems, I am reluctantly having to sell my 1995 300 TDI manual Disco as a part completed restoration or for spares.
It is a 5 door, 7 seater in Windjammer blue, and has 139K miles on the clock. Mechanically, it is pretty sound with a good engine. I have owned this for about 6 years, and in that time, apart from normal servicing, have replaced the following :-
Timing belt and pulleys, brake discs and master cylinder, battery, radiator, water pump, alternator and exhaust.
During the Christmas 2010 break, the clutch failed (release arm broke), so I replaced the complete clutch together with a reinforced arm, master & slave cylinders.
When the tax & mot ran out in April of last year, I took the decision to take the car off the road for a year and sort out the various rust & corrosion problems to the body, the chassis being very good and only needing a good Waxoiling.
I estimate that I have completed 2/3 of the work required :-
Replaced the rear floor panel (welded not riveted), made local repairs to the rear body crossmember & o/s sill, and replaced the o/s front inner wing & battery tray.
The welding still to be done is:- Replace part of the n/s front inner wing, repairs to the n/s sill, replace the n/s rear door arch panel (new panel included in the sale), and finish repairs to the n/s/r boot floor. There may be work required to the n/s floor panels, but if the o/s is anything to go by, they will be very local.
All 5 doors have suffered from poor paint adherence and there is some corrosion where the paint has lifted, a spare tailgate is included in the sale, although it is the wrong blue.
There are twin sunroofs, and I understand from the previous owner that as the original ones leaked, they have been replaced with a superior make as used by Volkswagen. These do seem to be the answer to leaky Disco sunroofs!
Whilst the car has been off the road, I have replaced the o/s/r calliper, fuel tank sender unit, the drag link ends and the steering damper.
Also, in the year it’s been off the road, the headlining has become detached, so that will need sorting out.
There are 5 ‘Boost’ alloy wheels (3 need refurbing) & 1 steel wheel with a virtually unused tyre. Out of the other tyres, 2 are fairly good. All tyres are 205/80 R 16.
I am looking for offers of around £900, to cover all the new parts I have fitted in the past year. As I stated earlier, I am very reluctant to let it go, but I am simply not well enough to finish it.
It is located in Royston, Herts (SG8), and it will need a trailer/transporter for removal.
Please contact me at [email protected] for further information.

As I need to move this fairly quickly, I am reducing the asking price to £700. I must emphasize that this is not a rusty wreck, the repairs required should be fairly straightforward.
