This is our family car that we have owned since 1995 and has done around 135k. The mot runs out next week and tax at the end of the month. It has been used as a general work horse and has scratches and wear and tear all over but has not been off road. The gearbox was reconditioned around 15k ago but the speedo stopped working so it hasn't clocked any more miles since then.
List of things wrong
Power steering pump whine
Rear floor has rust holes
Rust on the rear door jams
Aerial broken off
Rear window seal leaking
Front seats worn
Rear door locks stick every now and again
Rear tyres low tread
Sun roofs stick
Couple of bits of trim missing.
I might of missed something and recommend viewing. We have enjoyed owning this car but have bought something newer. We always repaired everything that needed doing and i'm sure there is still a lot of life left in it.
Offers around £600
Birmingham area.

I agree my post does sound misleading, our mechanic always advised us on the mechanical items that needed replacing, i'e suspension, brakes, alternator, bushes, and the noise from the pump is a recent thing as is the vandalised aerial. As for the rest of the things, if it didn't come up on the mot i have not been to worried and the only advisory was the two rear tyres. The price is stated as offers and i was recommended that this might be a good place to advertise, but if this is not the case i will try my local paper etc. Sorry for any confusion.

Cheers, its a shame its got to go, its done me proud, but i can't run two cars and the new one was a bit to good to miss. It wasn't him i was apologising to, it was the other guys and any new readers, and i do like your quote, very apt considering some of the replies :)
