possibly guilty of some free range dog activity
other than bobdog ****ing up topcat's tent, I'm unaware if he did it anywhere else. did apologise and offer to clean it, was greeted with "its on the outside, don't worry"
purposely walked the dogs out the way for turding, and collected deposits.
its nice to allow the dogs free range, initially I was very aware of the possibility of people who aint dog friendly and watched closely for where I needed to avoid, generally within the marquee they were on leads out of consideration, but yes there were times they were free range there as well. the lead was allus with me, and other dogs were free too.
also guilty of bigdog removing some sausages off a bbq at some point. they got offered to be replaced, but again was turned down with a grin and "nah, its allreet"
as for the event, was going to attend last year but last minute alterations put paid to that, so this year was a first.
slightly ****ed off as I thought the nipper had Friday off school, as it was we didn't leave yarkshire till gone 4pm, then endured 5 hours of Friday rush hour. why the feck its called rush hour I dunno, cos no one can rush anywhere, and lasts all bleddy afternoon.
anyroad. landing on site I felt like others have already said. was like gatecrashing a personal party with the disco. fair play to accy, he issued the tags, had a bit of banter, and everyone else was sat round the woodburner. no idea who they all were! personally tho, I had no issues with this and assumed I'd meet people later on (which I did)
Friday night, bit of beer on our pitch, me and the ginger one (t'other half) took turns tripping to the marquee while the other stayed near the nipper in the pikeywagon. no issues, talked, generally enjoyed it.
saturdays laning made it for me. initially said I wasn't going laning, (due to saving diesel) but ended up putting me name down. steady pace, mixture of motors, good people. the camardarie started after ponty fell of the road on a lane which broke the ice between us. the teamwork just gelled after that, and I take great pleasure in thanking everyone in route 1 @ 2pm for being who they were. even at the penultimate lane, where we bumped into another group, the teamwork and camardarie inter group was good.
back on site following a recovery, my beer started early during repairs, which in itself, attracted the vultures/****takers/advisors/assistants/etc, and the banter continued. I know the chap that broke was grateful, and its this type of stuff I enjoy. its just how I am.
sat'day night, same as Friday's. the music was loud, but good. I did throw beer over someone due to dodgy dancing, but believe it was someone from the main site
sunday, the intention was allus to head home, departed about 11am, and made a point of stopping at the marquee to say thanks and shake hands.
would I change anything? no. it all worked as far as I'm concerned, and I said all my thankyou's on another thread.
would I come back next year? well, that depends
a lot can change in a year!
probably, possibly, maybe!
