What have you done to your Freelander today

To be expected. It's old and has not had the care and attention of the rest of the drive train. An unwelcome expense, but I'll be keeping it going.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Pulled approx 500/600ml of milky slime from my rear diff, and filled up with new fluid. It didn't help though. A recon unit is required!

What have you done to your Freelander today

Drove it about pondering if the recently aquired "hum" from the back end is the diff being noisy because a) I'm in mondo mode, or b) because the fluid is low and needs changing (this weekend's job) or c) it's knackered, or possibly even d) all three.

Brand new fuel pump noisy freelander

I bought a Pierberg one 12 months ago. It's been noisy since day one. I was not happy but couldn't be bothered to take it back. I might regret that.

Well this is quite a thread. An OP melt down in 24 minutes, all on their own! :D

Freelander 1 Odd Ask. Worth a try.

You could approach a boat cover maker. They'd be able to produce a well fitting cover for sure, but it might cost a bit.

Freelander 1 TD4 Auto brake pedal rubber

Scrapyard could be your best bet. You may get lucky. Mine is well worn and was picked up once as an advisory a few years ago, but not in the last few years. I managed to find a decent one in the scrap yard a few years ago but have refrained from fitting it to save it as long as possible.

That's a more unusual one for the forum, but well done!

It's all looking good. I tell you what, your disco looks lovely. I really like seeing stock D2s now as more and more of them are seriously modded (which is fine) but it's nice to see one looking so original and mint. Cracking Porsche too!

Freelander 1 TD4 Sport turbo whine

Did the sport have a different map on the ECU from factory?

    Freelander 2 or defender

I'd keep the FL1 and have a Defender if i could afford it.

That poprivet bloke was a bit scary, well, maybe weird rather than scary, but not seen him on here for years. Anyhow, let's hear about this resto then. The opening pic looks very promising.

    Freelander 2 or defender

As others have said, they are not comperable vehicles. You need to decide what you want first.

Freelander 1 WHITE smoke cutting out after few seconds starting

I absolutely would not be putting that stuff in any vehicle I own. HG failure is rare on the TD4 so I'd definitely be doing more investigation on where the leak might be first. Compression test first, and if that's okay, have a look at other possible components like the various coolers etc.
