I had a similar issued with a new bulkhead that didn't come threaded.
You can buy coupling nuts, or threaded inserts that fit into the bulkhead and accept the thread from the bolt.
I bought some that had the same OD as the bulkhead and welded...
That's fine and all, but probably speaks volumes about your age and generation more than anything.... again nothing wrong with that. But things do evolve and progress. Just because you don't like or don't want to keep up doesn't make them wrong.
Norfolk, but travel all over for work. So anywhere between not Norfolk, Devon, Dorset or Hampshire is workable for me. But not scared of travelling for the right engine.
No doubt the ladder chassis is superior for any front or rear impact but I wouldn't want to be t-boned by any size car whilst sitting in my S3. The chassis rails aren't going to do anything and the outriggers will likely just pierce a radiator.
