So update, managed to get them sorted now. Nearside was easy to get out but a complete and utter &^%$ to get back in, while the offside was the other way round. Ended up having to strap the axle to chassis with a strap and pull it in to get the nut started on the chassis - ended up ****ting...

Just wondering if the RAC delivered and you've had a chance to look at it?

Hi guys, Bought my 5th D1 last October and just spent the last 4 months doing the usual. Arches / Boot / removed the sunroofs / new lights etc etc. I bought a replacement intercooler > turbo hose and while replacing all the fluids last night changed over the 90 degree elbow and short straight...

Mine were leaking too, so I ripped them out - got some .8mm mild sheet; cut to oversize with around 30-40 holes and drilled / riveted to the body with non setting sealant. Going to fibreglass the seems later, sand and paint the whole motor.

I know that it could be a lot of work, and that i might have to do it again at some point. just need to get the truck on the road asap, and funds aren't there at the mo. £100 for both is pretty good, my friends mate who breaks them. Worth a punt for the cost, even if it lasts for 6 months gives...

Magic thanks Martin, Got all the part numbers i need now, better do the reverse light switch when she's on the deck as i've just read it's a bar steward of a job to reach. Noted on the oil seal, i'll order one just in case, but not seen evidence of this as the arse end of the engine is covered...
