Entirely depends upon the model and how attentive the owner is to clearing out leaves and muck from the air intakes....
Most of the one's I've replaced have been bottom left, occasionally bottom right on L322's due to roadsalt induced corrosion...
How did it get locked?
Is the dog in the boot or able to roam the car?
If the latter, lie on the bonnet and annoy the dog so it paws at the lock/unlock buttons, if you're lucky, it'll press one or both
It is possible to catch the code from the fob and rebroadcast it. Very few can do it. However, on later models I think it may still need a transponder chip in the key to be picked up by the coil around the ignition. Although I might be mixing...
Well while I was giving everything a good old spray of GT85 to try and eliminate this squeak, I dropped the bench seat back down and… SQUEAK!
Video clicky
It’s the sodding head rest!
I am pleased to report it worked!
I bought a standard m20x1.5 tot 1/4" hydraulic adaptor fitting and cut some slots in the thread. Also had to drill out the ID a little bit (to 17mm). Worked a treat!! New cooler installed!
6.81€ for the fitting...
Depends how they did it. It is hard to get all the fluid out the first time unless you flush it.
Sometimes fresh fluid shows up wear as it flushes out the material that has been masking the problem. @Bemble is the expert on these boxes. I'd wait...
No so much the volts but the amps available to launch a 2 ton carvthrough the air are insane. Definitely not a job to take on without the right tools.
Moreover, everything is so damn complex these days. I wouldn't be surprised if it needs the...
It's not just replacing the defective cells (assuming that is the problem not a coolant leak or HV insulation - or even the contactor fusible links blown in the event of the SRS deeming an impact was severe enough to 'blow them clear').
Of...
It won't work, the DC-DC converter and powertrain controller communicate with the BMS, if the BMS detects a cell fault or low insulation resistance, it will prevent the vehicle from starting. No amount of 12V charging will convince the BMS to...
Diesel but reason for question is the hybrid batteries are defunct and China holding the UK to ransom. Been on the waiting list since February for new power cell.
Drove her from Barcelona to London!
Actually had a leisurely wind up through Europe over four days:
Barcelona—> Andorra
Andorra —> Cahors
Cahors —> Tours
Tours —> Cherbourg
All went pretty well, aside from driving into one of those toll...
My 1998 says it is prone to cooling system leaks ... says they will replace all the hoses for me :) How do you find out if a car ever got fixed (JLR dealer, i guess),,, and would they honour it after all this time?
I tried heat and tried scraping some of the aluminium out of the threads. Managed to dislodge all the corrosion and some of the old thread. A bit still left however, don't feel comfortable using it as is.
I have in the mean time determined that...
Well this weekend we finally got round to replacing the very frail but important egr filter on our l322 3.0 diesel, thus time we used the conversion kit. It took a little bit of fettling but fits fine now. It really IS worth the time and expense...
I fitted a new valve block too an old chaps P38 ashe was about to get regally ripped by a local garage. Bless him he bought me a 4 pack of beer and a large bar of chocolate. I did not want anything :)
If it runs every single press the accumulator, that black ball thing, is getting weak. My guess is the diaphragm inside is distorting from the pressure of the nitrogen gas inside and if left long enough it is pushing fluid out the top of the...
Mysterious fires in the ashtray?
Reason for recall
There is a possibility that a short circuit may occur in the cigar lighter bulb holder when the vehicle lighting system is operated.
How to check if the vehicle is recalled
Contact the local...
I've got a intermittent rear left sensor issue that arises from time to time but the system goes dormant at normal height.. It used to go to the stops but not now and I've no idea what has changed. These cars are pretty good off road and with...
Last weekend I took her up Scapa Florida, she drove there beautifully. Now the air intake is fixed she positively flew up the hills. No issues at all with running with the bigger wheels. She behaved beautifully off road. She acquitted herself...
