Morning all,
Looking to remove my transfer box off my Td5 90 to do the seals and have a leak. I can’t seem anything anywhere online on how to take it off just to get me going in the right direction. Was just wondering if any of you have taken yours out and could point me in the right direction.

Thanks, Sam

No. I’m sure it’s not that hard, was just wondering if anyone else has done it. I would assume it’s props off, disconnect the breather and cable running to the transfer box gear stick, then undo the bolts that hold it to the chassis

Some tidy videos on the you tube. Also details of device that can be made to fit a jack lower it away and lift back in a controlled way.

Have a look and ask questions there ...
It's a two man job really.
transfer box removal is only a two man job if you are men of a certain age 😜. I am still young enough that i just pull it off and lower it onto my chest, and then bench press it back into position to refit.

To remove the transfer box is fairly easy however, it is just lots of little jobs list (but possibly not exhaustive) below.
Drain the oil
remove the propshafts
remove the handbrake cable
remove the gearbox tunnel to allow access
remove the breather
remove the linkages
disconnect difflock cable
remove batter earth (if required)
remove the mount
unbolt form the main gearbox noting bolt locations as they are not all the same
slide back and lower onto chest testing the tensile strength of everything you have forgotten to disconnect.
