I
So, I’m in the box. As I’ve mentioned, the Layshaft was new… however your question here is ringing in my ears.. I have managed to remove the bearing from the end of the Layshaft as I was hoping to use it on another and switch it out. I then dug out the original layshaft and the bearing it still on it… but it’s on the other way around…. So, how do I know which way is correct? ( obviously hoping it was the wrong way around as it might help fix it) any reference anywhere?

Also, I’m thinking I should use a new bearing.. but this one was about £60 from synchrogearboxes. The britpart one is about £11. Anyone used it without issues?
Ive used all britpart bearings on the last build. (used the syncro ones at first but they got trashed with bits of broken gears )Never noticed any noise difference and have been running for at least a year with several reasonably long journeys, time will tell!

Measure it and go to https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/Bearings/c3/index.html

I generally choose anything Swedish or Japanese.
